- So that humanity may be tried (Job 1:11,20-21).
- So that the love and courage of a saint might be tried (James 1:12; 1 Pet. 1:7-10; 5:8-9).
- So that humility will be found to exist in the saints of God (2 Cor. 12:7).
- So that the saints will be provided a means of conflict that they may be rewarded through overcoming (Mark 16:17-20; 1 Cor. 4:9; 2 Cor. 2:5-11; Revelation 2:7-28).
- So that the character and faith of a believer will be developed well rounded (James 1:12; 1 Pet. 1:7-13; 2 Pet. 1:4-9; Jude 20-24).
- So that the very power of God will be demonstrated over the power of Satan (Eph. 2:7; 3:10; 1 Cor. 4:9; Mark 16:17-20).
- To use him as a chastising instrument, so that people will repent and come to God (1 Cor. 5:1-6; 2 Cor. 2:5-11; Job 33:14-30).
- So that the very possibility of falling will be purged from the saints in the eternal future (Revelation 21; Daniel 9:24-27).
I just want to say thank you for posting this on the blog. I had many questions on why God allowed Satan to do what he does and I also wanted to back it by the Word when people asked me questions about this topic. Thank you again and for always teaching us and getting us to study the Word and stay on fire for Jesus!!!!
