Demonic Oppression and Possession: author unknown
Posted by SitePastor in Deliverance MinistriesDemons want to and can possess people. It is apparent from Scripture that evil spirits want to possess bodies through which they can carry out their wicked activities.
Bible scholars have categorized two levels of demonic impact upon people:
- Demonic oppression: mild to severe harassment by one or more evil spirits as a result of the opening of some of the gateways to satanic influence.
- Demonic possession: The condition in which one or more evil spirits actually inhabit the body of a person, taking control of it at will and expressing his (or their) evil personality through the faculties of that human body.
- Matthew 12:43-45, as quoted previously, is a classic description of demonic possession: note especially the phrase “they enter in and dwell there.”
- Other Scriptures that describe such possession: Matthew 10:1: “And when (Jesus) had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out.”
Demons possessing the Gadarene demoniac of Mark 5 did not want to be disembodied. They begged to be allowed by Jesus to enter a herd of swine. Other activities that are characteristic of demons include:
- Demons can prophesy.
- The Bible gives several examples of this deceptive demonic activity, such as the account of the demonized fortune-teller
- First Kings, the prophet Micaiah, speaking for the Lord, spoke against the false prophets who had predicted success for the wicked king of Israel: I Kings 22:21-22: “. . . there came forth a spirit . . . and said . . . I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.”
- Demons seek the worship of people – such as Obama, though it is forbidden by God. Worship of Satan and demons is grotesque, often involving bizarre idolatry, vile ritualism and human sacrifice-even child sacrifices.
- Leviticus 17:7: “And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils.”
- Psalm 106: 37-38: “Yea, they sacrificed their sons and daughters unto devils, and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan.”
- Revelation 9:20: “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver and brass, and stone, and of wood.”
Satan and his hosts are a defeated army-legally defeated; when Christ died and rose again, He sealed His victory over the enemy.
He “led captivity captive,” (Ephesians 4:80).
Though the sentence was passed on Satan at the cross of Christ and at the empty tomb, it has not yet been executed. However it will be, as the prophetic Scriptures make abundantly evident.
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”(Rev. 20:10)

I enjoyed this article. The issue of demonic oppression versus possession is especially interesting as it relates to Christians, too! We see many people who are demonically oppressed, not possessed but who still have the demons in them! Christians cannot be demon possessed because we are God-possessed!
Demonic oppression can happen to people who consider themselves to be Christians. Since I had some spare time and I had a hearing impairment, I wanted to conduct an experiment. The bible talks about how Christ took demons out of people and restored physical impairments. So guess what. I pulled up a prayer for demonic deliverance and all “hell broke loose”. It took about 2 1/2 weeks of reading the same prayer before I “met” the demon responsible for my hearing problem. It turned out to be a generational curse thing that jumped off my father. While getting into the who spiritual warfare battle, I became literally “filled with the holy spirit”, that is that type of “filled with the holy spirit thing, that you read about in the bible – the baptism by fire kind. In addition, I had the holy spirit shotgunning bible verses, telling me I needed to read bible verses to read them faster, and which verses to remember. I was literally almost taking shorthand while being inspired as to which verses through Matthew, Mark, John, and Act to read. My father had managed to pick up a 3,500 year old Sumerian demon who was pissed off at Jews because of what Abraham did in Ur – destroying statutes to idols and sacrificing babies. So things escalated to a battle between God himself and this demon, literally fighting over me, while I am listening like a roving reporter, learning the fine are of spiritual warfare like crazy. I was not nervous because my generational blessings balanced things out. I learned that with generational curses that God just does not pick up the demon by his heels and kick his but into eternity because a person being oppressed like myself had to make the choice. So I had to bind by faith, fire, earth, and prayer and bind “UR”, which seemed to be the heart of the demons power, along with Earth and the demon himself. It was 35% this and binding myself to God to such an extent that he could legally get involved and start kicking but like big time crazy. This demon was the reason I was born with a hearing impairment and caused every physical ailment I had since birth. It whispered an illness, malady, I developed it – I was through holy ghost inspiration allowed to hear the whole thing. The secret of the generational curse line is that the demon binds like what it did to me my father the host into me enough times to make it official. The physical maladies are disappearing like crazy. But to finish off the generational curse line, you have to open the door to allow God’s blessings through, so you have to, as the next stage of the process use this same binding process between you and God, and then add all blessings and keep doing this which stops the devil from harrassing at a distance. I don’t care if anyone believes this because my hearing is improving to a level I never dreamed possible among many other miracles. But the story needs to be told. Because everyone is always condeming God for not doing things while ignoring the fact the universe has rules and regulations which govern the art of spiritual warfare that we have to follow or we cancel out being able to receive Gods blessings. 100% faith is only the start. Let go and let God!
